Ifigenia Sdoukou
Contemporary art through fabric and embroidery is related to both social history and the nature of the medium itself, examining and addressing issues such as: materiality, tradition, storytelling, gender, poems, fairy tales , time and memory.
With studies in painting and engraving at the School of Fine Arts of Florence, Ifigenia Sdoukou has taught visual arts in secondary education. She received the award of the 6th Triennial of Textile Art, Novi Sad Serbia 2017, while her works are in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki, the Municipal Gallery of Larissa – GI Katsigras Museum, the University Hospital of Larissa, the Museum of Folk Art and Tradition of the Municipality of Athens and in private collections. He has designed album covers and has collaborated as an illustrator with the publishing house Anemi.
