Giorgos Vavatsis
Giorgos Vavatsis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1974. He studied Visual & Live Art in Gloucestershire University, in England from 1995 to 1998. In 2000, he returned at his hometown and he established his own workshop, where he still works. His ceramic works has been shown in several solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He participated in 12 ceramic symposiums around Europe and Asia. In 2012, he won the 1st prize in the 50th Panhellenic Ceramic Competition. From 2002 until today he teaches ceramics in Museums and Art Schools in Northern Greece and in his own workshop. In 2013, he established the ceramic production company, «Hakah Ceramics Design Production», specialized in stoneware table and drink wares. In 2017, he creates a project space named “6exi”, where national and international invited artists expose their work in the public of Thessaloniki. He is a member of Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece since 2011 and of International Academy of Ceramics since 2022.
