Stavros Panagiotakis
The wandering, the identity, the integration in a transitional society, the search for survival / happiness, are the reasons for the theoretical structure of his work.
People make their story under the circumstances of the life in which they find themselves, but circumstances that they do not choose themselves. The individual or the collective transition from place to place, the wandering and the breaking of the border of the private with the public space, perform in the overall transformation of social cohesion are some of the elements that create the relationship of content and form, in the structure of the composition of the works of this thematic unit.
Born in 1963 in Chania. He studied Painting (1984 – 1989) at the Berlin U.D.K. School of Fine Arts. to Professor Gerhard Bergmann. Parallel study in Engraving and Sculpture workshops. In 1991 he obtained a postgraduate degree (Meisterschüler) from the Berlin School of Fine Arts U.D.K. In 2015 he was awarded a doctorate from the Department of Architectural Engineering of the Polytechnic School of AUTh.
From 2017 he teaches as Special Teaching Staff at Faculty of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece
He participated in 73 group and 36 individual exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
