Christos Kechagioglou
Realities and Inland (text excerpt by Athena Schina)
Christos Kechagioglou maps his own artistic world, in which one is encouraged by the boundless innocence of the childish look and an expert paradox, which leads to nostalgia and riddles, for the past and the future, for the indicated and the accessories. and the constantly revealed. A journey from the heartland of a personal memory, to the artistic surface of the painter. Internal luminosity, vitality and turgor pressure in always unprecendented formations. This limitless perception, through which Chr. Kehagioglou forms his poetic dynamic imagery-transforms the distant event into a nearby one and familiar into unfamiliar.
He was born in Thessaloniki in 1960. He studied civil engineering in Thessaloniki, while attending painting classes with Nikos Sachinis, then studied film directing in Athens and finally did a postgraduate study of art philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris, studying film relations and cinema.
He has directed dozens of films and video works that were played at the Thessaloniki Film Festival and other important festivals in Europe, as well as in museums and art galleries. He has presented, in Greece and abroad, in 41 individual and in over a hundred group exhibitions, his painting.
